Hall Grounds and Garden

The Hall has a splendid forecourt and garden cared for by the Caretakers.  Up until the 1960s the Hall was hidden from public view by a terrace of buildings, including an entrance archway, fronting onto Aldwark.

A large part of the forecourt was also occupied by terrace dwellings.  When the 1887 archway was demolished, the stone coat of arms from above the archway and depicting the untinctured Arms of the London Company of Merchant Taylors was saved and built into the new boundary wall to the left of the Hall porch.

The gardens provide a serene setting to the Hall, and are enjoyed by Members and visitors alike.
